The leadership behind Freedom Vision

Perrie Lyon, RN

Perrie Lyon wears two hats at Freedom Vision — and both are centered on your care. As Chief Operating Officer, she oversees the daily operations of the center: the clinical teams, safety and accreditation standards, and the details that make each surgery day run smoothly. As Director of Nursing, she leads our nursing team directly — their training, their clinical standards, and the quality of care at your bedside, from the moment you check in until you leave recovery.

A registered nurse herself, Perrie believes patients feel the difference when the person running the center has also stood at the bedside. Her focus is simple: a well-run center where patients feel cared for and surgeons have everything they need to do their best work.

Robert Cohenour, MD

Dr. Cohenour founded Freedom Vision Surgery Center in 1997 with a clear conviction: surgeons do their best work — and patients get their best care — in a center designed entirely around eye surgery. As CEO, he continues to lead the center's investment in advanced technology and its physician-owned, patient-first culture, summed up in the motto he set for the center: “Built by physicians for physicians and their patients.”

Kelsea Matthews

As Vice President of Operations, Kelsea works closely with our surgeons' offices, insurers, and patients to coordinate every surgery from scheduling through recovery. She leads the center's credentialing and payer relationships and makes sure that when you arrive, everything — your paperwork, your team, your time — is ready for you.

Shira Bizaoui, CRNA

Shira Bizaoui is a dedicated anesthesia provider who prides herself on patient care, patient comfort, and safe, consistent outcomes. Trained at USC, she brings years of experience in the field to Freedom Vision, where she has served as Director of Anesthesia Services since the inception of our in-house anesthesia group — hand-chosen for the role by Dr. Michael Colvard, one of our founders.
